Accommodation close to Southampton & Portsmouth

Hi, we are travelling with in-laws to this area. Need some accommodation for one evening.
Looking to spend minimal amount on accommodation as it's only for the night.
Any recommendaitons?

There is a premier inn by Southampton airport and very close to M27 (15-20 mins to Central Portsmouth. Botleigh Grange hotel is just off M27 and halfway between both cities. More expensive though.

I used to travel a lot down there and I liked De vere venues Botley Park

oops baby brain De Vere is called New Place,
Botley Park was a shockingly swish Macdonald Golf resort.
