only been to Sherwood like it because its local, not too big to walk around, great sports bar and other restuarants

what's Elvedon like and do you prefer it over Sherwood?

Just got back from Sherwood and went to Elvedon two years ago.

I preferred Sherwood - the landscape was more interesting, Elvedon has the lake in the middle then rings of accommodation around it, whereas Sherwood seemed to have lots of little ponds and woody areas. Elvedon has all the shops and indoor stuff clumped together whereas Sherwood has the 'Jardin du Sport' away from the pool and restaurants. The Sherwood pool seemed bigger too, and the grand cascade slide was great.

For the same weekend, we found that Sherwood was £120 cheaper so that swayed our decision considerably!!

Been to both & liked both. Elvedon small like Sherwood ie not too far from any accommodation & fairly flat. Pool a bit older, no ring slide but I hear the have a new really fast ride. How old are the dcs. Older might prefer Elvedon, younger Sherwood. We liked Sherwood & went back but dcs preferred rapids at long leat, can't really remember Elvedon but all facilities central. Much of a Muchness depends how much cheaper?

Been to both. Sherwood is best. I liked the people better.

Hmm, elvedon is flatter so easier for cycling, has a better swimming pool and indoor area IMO.

BUT sherwood has better play parks and I like the way the fact the "beach" has a play area on it. Thought the spa t sherwood was nicer too.

Waiting for the new Woburn one to open in the hopes it will be a perfect blend of the two! (And much closer!)

I've only been to Sherwood and Whinfell, but I do adore Sherwood.

Elveden edged it for me as closer for us and the staff were very friendly.

I would go back to Sherwood though.

Prefer Sherwood. Been to Elevden twice and much prefer that Sherwood is more spaced out. The only thing I prefered about Elevden was the pool. We saw a higher number of animals at Sherwood but at christmas at Elveden we had deer, monkjack and herons near our back door which we didn't see at Sherwood.
I am sad enough to have called to see when the one near Bedford opens (spring 2014) and when you can book to visit (July this year)

Been to Elveden 3 times and Sherwood once. I prefer layout of Sherwood and the adventure playgrounds were much better than Elveden but I found Sherwood a little tired and our Woodland Lodge was filthy when we checked in, we ended up with a clean team gutting it and £50 in vouchers off our next stay!
So, overall we prefer Elveden but Sherwood def has some positives over it.

Not really mich difference between them. Both are manufactured 'villages'. We've had fun at both. I'd just go to the one with the least travel time.
