Girlie weekend in Edinburgh tips please!

Me and my friend are escaping next weekend, we are off to Edinburgh to stay in the Missoni Hotel for a girlie weekend, (so excited!) we have booked lunch in Tigerlily followed by shopping. Then, on the evening we want to stay around the Royal Mile so not too far from Hotel, can anyone recommend any restaurants/bars. Last year we stayed near Tigerlily and went to bars like Living room etc.. but didn't think the atmosphere was up to much and we seemed to spend a lot of time finding the next wine bar. I've looked at the restaurant Angel and Bagpipes but not sure if it will be too fine dining for what we want?!? Any help appreciated.

Missoni hotel is beautiful! I'm so jealous.

The Witchery at the castle is quite infamous for it's good food. It's not fine dining but upmarket enough to be a treat.

Bar-wise I'm utterly useless as I'm quite happy in student dives.

Hopefully someone else will spot this and give you some more ideas!
