We're spending a couple of days in the peak district over half term, never been before. Any must sees/dos?

Chatsworth house gardens or farm and adventure playground depending on age of DC matlock bath is like a mini seaside resort, park, river arcades ! Monsal head for a nice walk if weathers nice, nice pub and food too. Royal oak hurdlow is on a cyclepath and is award winning food. Buxton for the park, go ape high ropes and pooles cavern, castleton hope valley for more caverns and caves. Have fun

Dovedale is beautiful and if you fancy a challenge you could climb Thorpe Cloud - take trainers or something though because I climbed it in wellies last summer (had worn them so I could paddle in the river) and got stuck on the way down because they had no grip!

Lots of lovely little towns for a wander round as well - Bakewell and Ashbourne spring to mind. Castleton is nice and the Blue John mines are good although not suitable for prams/very young kids.

Have fun, it's a lovely area to spend time in :)

Ladybower Reservoir is nice for a walk/picnic. Gullivers for little ones and Heights of Abraham are good both in Matlock Bath. Buxton, Bakewell & Matlock Bath are nice small towns. Sherwood Forest Farm Park & Sherwood Forest visitor centre are good (both in Notts) there is a small fairground near sherwood forest visitor centre, if you fancy travelling to the next county, likewise Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster.
