We have decided to holiday in N Yorkshire this year and wondered if anyone could recommend some nice accommodation. We don't want to be too remote in case the weather is bad and we need to find things to do to entertain 3 children!!

Do you want Moors, seaside or Dales because N Yorkshire has all of those?

In the York/easingwold or Harrogate or Pickering would be areas of choice.

Try //cottages4you.co.uk] and use the Mumsnet discount. Search in and around Helmsley. Very pretty, lovely shops, a castle, lots of walks, great ice creams...

Another Keldy Forest holiday fan. We go there twice a year and we only live 20 miles away!

I would recommend highly Hewenden Mill Cottages near Howarth. The owners are wonderful and the service and quality of accommodation is great. It's close to Bradford for Eureka museum, about an hour from Harrogate and there are some nice parks and playgrounds close by.
