Any recommendations for a central London hotel

I am planning a 2 night trip to London with my Mum to go to the theatre, nice lunches etc

We're planning on going to the Globe one evening - so something not too far away would be good though not essential.

Probably nothing ultra-modern - more boutique and comfy.

Any recommendations?
