Help!

Have just come back from a long haul holiday and I have suddenly thought we have 6 weeks off but I can't afford another 'proper' break!!! So am thinking of just a week self catering in the UK.

I have this ideal of really lovely/clean accommodation on a nice rural farm where the children can see the animals, get eggs and maybe even a horse ride or two. No idea where to start especially at this late stage. We are focussing on South West, wales, New Forest but I guess would consider other areas if someone has a brill recommendation.

All suggestions VERY welcome.

A friend has just come back from what she said was a lovely place and recommended it to us. Doubleton Farm Cottages near Weston Super Mare. Maybe worth a look

I don't know about the accomodation itself but this is the most gorgeous area. IIRC DD has been riding there. V pretty.

Oh thank you, I will look at them all. Please keep them coming as no doubt many are booked up for the summer.

tiger I had a look at your parents cottages and they look fab (albeit in totally the wrong area for us!) I saw they were either booked or provisionally booked all through July and August - do you know if they are really booked as we might be very interested (have to ask DH if he'll drive that far). try cartwheel holidays. they specialise in farm stays. school holidays this last minute might be v tricky. you need to try some of the last minute websites and lower your ideals a little Smile

I'm finding quite a few things through all your links so thanks. NOw I just have to find out if they are as available as the websites say. Haven't yet tracked down a really good fram experience though.

Oldwalls Leisure on Gower? I think the King Arthur Hotel may also have some self catering as does Penrice Castle - both on Gower - not sure how much access to animals etc though but fab location.
