Wanting to take 3 DC (6yrs and under) away for a week at the end of August and looking for recommendations. We have a tent so a campsite is obviously an option (would love any recommendations for QUIET sites). We had a bit of a camping disaster last year (when DC3 was only 13 months) - awful weather and noisy site so also considering a caravan or a cottage but would ideally like to spend no more than about £400 so that rules out some options but if anyone knows of anything that might come in under this budget (bearing in mind I'm looking for the last week of August (Monday 22nd) then please let me know!!

We're in the NW but prepared to travel!

Many thanks
Mandy

Camping may be your best option as there arent many cottages around for £400 in August. Why not go down the nailbiting option route and wait until the week before then you will know what the weather is and also can go to the late deals sites like lastminutecottages and see who will do you a bargain! Good luck - fingers crossed for tent weather in August

we also booked a cottage in bamburgh for £420 in half term october. It's a bit groovy inside but just across road from the sand dunes and beach any next to vikllage so ticks all the boxes for us!

Haven't stayed at the above, but Bacton is a quiet place for simple old fashioned holidays. Our boys love Bacton and so do we. The beach is grear and uncrowded. Safe shallow pools form at low tide for LOs to play in, and when the tide is in there is lots of wave dodging to be had. Good fish and chips, plenty to see locally with the Norfolk Broads and further up the coast to North Norfolk. Just a thought.

Try holiday lettings website as they have loads of places and you can search by lots of different criteria. Plenty of caravans as well as cottages. Also you could try the farm stay website which offer good value for money.
