Broadstairs beaches

How close are all the beaches to each other? If there was one particular beach I wanted to go to, then would I need to find a place to stay right near that beach, or are they all close to each other?

Um, there is a beach in Broadstairs town itself, then the other bays along the coast. Did you have one in mind?

Stone Bay - I got the impression it was actually in Broadstairs, but maybe not then?

Well it is. But a bit round the coast from the town centre. There are lovely beaches in the area. I personally love Joss Bay. Will you have a car? Are you planning on JUST going to the beach?

We will have a car so can visit several beaches but I really fancied being within walking distance of Stone Bay. We will just be goign to the beach, yes.
Thanks for your help!

Viking Bay and Loouisa Bay are actually in Broadstairs - the others are a bit away - and IIRC, Stone Bay doesn't have much there apart from a lovely beach. So a bit tricky if it's nto beach weather. But there's loads to do in the area if you've got a car.

Joss Bay is the best, in my opinion. But Minnis is lovely too.

Thanks Seeker! The reason I chose Stone Bay over Joss Bay was because it said that Stone Bay was very quiet, unlike Joss Bay. Joss Bay also has surf, so not so good for little DS. Do you know if Joss Bay has rockpools? That's another reason I thought Stone Bay would be good, because we love a bit of rockpooling!

I got the impression Stone Bay was walkable from Broadstairs because one cottage we saw said it was 2-3 mins walk from Stone Bay and 5 mins walk from Broadstairs town centre. Do you think that is creative time-keeping on the part of the advert then?!

I lobed the idea of being walking distance ot the beach, without having to worry about finding a parking space and so on. But maybe I should let that idea go.

Fabulous rock pooling on Louisa Bay!

More later - kentish beaches being one of my specialist subjects.

Thanks so much, Seeker! Would love to know how many mins walk Stone Bay is from Broadstairs town centre, if you know that? Is it a practical walk, with little ones and lots of beach gear?
