weird but good (IMO)

Hilton is connected to South Terminal. Sofitel to North. Think Yotel is in South Terminal but may have got that wrong.

Not stayed in any of them though!

But there are 3 of us

I have stayed in both, they do family rooms, you can also take advantage and check in the night before.

ArentFanny Mon 06-Dec-10 21:46:40

Sorry Sofitel and Hilton.

fluffles Mon 06-Dec-10 21:51:55

yotel is in the terminal, bloody great, just go down in the lift from arrivals...

Sofitel appear to say we can't have DD in the room with us, because she is 13 & therefore an adult

Hilton here we come (I guess)

ArentFanny Mon 06-Dec-10 21:53:34

That is weird.

Are you driving? If so look up FHR.com I think thay do room and parking reservations all in one.

It says
"About
this hotel

Maximum 3 rooms per booking
Maximum 4 people per room

* - Maximum 2 adult(s) per room
* - Maximum 1 child(ren) per room

Children :
From 12 years old, children are considered as adults"

Sofitel at Gatwick is shite. Imo.

ArentFanny Mon 06-Dec-10 21:56:36

Through that website, just mnanged to get quotes for family 2 adults + one child and a triple room.

For Sofitel and Hilton.

We stayed in the Hilton pre our holiday in August - booked a family room for us plus DC aged 13, 10, 8 with no problem. We did it through HolidayExtras.com who offer various deals eg inclusive car parking, dinner etc. We were upgraded to connecting rooms which was great. Recommend getting the buffet inclusive if you are going to eat there as the restaurants and bars in the hotel are clearly set up for business travellers - ie very expensive.

We have a 3 hr drive on Christmas day to catch a 4am check-in

I wonder if I'd better to drive straight to the airport

& we get back at 3 am

<sigh> I really stuffed up
