Hello everyone, I know that a lot of you have gone through the eleven plus exams and tutors stress so I thought I ask those of you who used tutors if you can let me know which tutor did you use? Did you use a one to one tutor or did you send your child to a centre?
I've been in touch with 2 centres and I'm not sure which one to choose :(
My daughter is going to be in year 4 in September.
I would appreciate it if you could recommend any tutors/centres around Harrow, Ruislip, Pinner and Northwood area.
Many thanks.

I used Max Benjamin to prepare my daughter for the 11+, she was successful and is in St Pauls. Very happy with the result. He is currently working with my son.

He is based in North Harrow: www.maxbenjamintutor.com

Why are you worrying about this if she's only going into year 4? If she needs two year's prep, I would question if she is fit for grammar school.

Thank you very much Jennifer, I will get in touch with the tutor once we go back home from our holiday.

Iggity we live in a very competitive area, and it’s very hard to get into the school we want.
I want to give my daughter the best chance possible :)

Hi Mina,

I absolutely agree that it can never be too early to start tuition. In fact, a lot of tutors recommend starting from Year 4 to ensure that the child has a solid 2 years of 11 Plus prep - unfortunately the reality is that grammar school entrance exams are becoming increasingly competitive since the number of applicants tends to increase year on year. Please feel free to PM if I can assist you in any way if you have not found a suitable tutor or tuition centre, I am an ex-Tiffin School student and also passed the Langley Grammar School entrance exam back in the early 2000s.

Hey Mina, if you are still looking for a tutor in the West London area, do check out Tutor Science.

Start early.

Many tutoring companies recommend beginning in primary school. Look for a tutoring company online or ask around for recommendations. Not sure which area you are living in but in my area there are two formal tutoring centres for children and one deals with 11 plus exams.

PM me if you want me to pass on the link to their website. Or if you have any questions.

Yes indeed I recommend starting at the age of 2. It really isn't ever too early. Ignore the haters they are merely jealous! Work work work! Cram cram cram! Test test test test!
