Tutoring online advice

I'm currently at home looking after my 10 month old and I'll soon be moving to USA with my husband.

I won't be able to work over there for a while so I'm thinking about something mobile and flexible like online tutoring.

I'm a secondary teacher of art/dt (5 years) and have also done part time tutoring English/maths/science to esl children.

Does anyone have experience of tutoring English online? Or sites you can recommend?

TIA

On line tutoring is huge in the US (I'm a Yank), but I think it's mostly focused on helping students prepare for the various college aptitude tests we have like the ACT and the SAT. We used this company with our son and they were brilliant:

I'm sure there are other companies that focus on subject matter tutoring for younger kids. I've heard good things about this firm:

Is it your intention to find American students?

Oh that's handy! Thank you

I was actually thinking Uk students, start here and then continue once I move over there.

I'm not sure if I would need a police check from the US for US students/company and I wouldn't be able to provide that.

But if it's a big thing over there then I'll look into it further Smile

You're quite welcome! [smile}

I think your plan is sound. Starting with UK students now and then just carrying on from the states would avoid any employment issues here. There is the time difference though. Do you know where in the US you'll be living? I'm in New York.

Of course! The time difference I hadn't even thought.

We'll be in Florida so it's 5 hours back, you're right that could be tricky.
