Pirate ships??

Hi all

My DS would love a pirate ship for his 4th birthday in a few months. I've been looking at the large Playmobil one, which looks fab but is very pricey!

Does anyone have it - is it worth the money?

I know Playmobil do smaller ones - but can't seem to find the dimensions on the website?
Does anyone have a smaller one and how big is it?

Would consider a wooden one too if anyone can recommend one - but would ideally like plastic so it can go in water.

Thanks in advance

My friend's DS has this and loves it - she picked it up in a charity shop for half price! Have you tried ebay?

We don't have the Playmobil pirate ship, but do have lots of other Playmobil. It has certainly been worth the money in our house - ds plays with it all the time. He had his first Playmobil at the age of 5, and is now 9 and there is hardly a day when some Playmobil hasn't been in use.

I think Argos have one which our DS love - was a present from my brother 2 years ago at Xmas.

Apparantly the Playmobil one takes about a day to assemble!

My friend got one from Tish Tash Toys. its really cool. She also bought him a shield so he could play at being a knight and also this wooden castle. Makes me wish I had a boy LOL but she says they have good stuff so maybe check out their website. i dont know the website address but I think you can probably google it. I think delivery is free if you order through an agent like she did but you'd need to find out if there was an agent near you

I have a fab pirate ship from John Lewis. It cost quite a bit at £25 but is far and away the best toy I have ever bought.

blurb says two removeable figures but there are four, if you count the monkey and the parrot

Actually just read that your DS is 4. My ship may be a bit babyish, sorry.

My DS has the phantom ghost ship (you need to scroll down a bit). He's had a lot of play value out of it. I can't remember exactly when he got it, either for his 4th birthday or for christmas when he was 4.6 yrs.

The Playmobil Pirate Ship is fabulous, but if you are looking for a wooden one (also a lot cheaper but still with loads of great features) have you looked at the plan Pirate Ship ? we got ours from www.funkymoose.co.uk and also managed to buy with 10% off which was a bargain.
