Evening all

i'm looking for a wooden dolls' house for a 2 year old with a view to it being added to for birthdays, etc. are your girls enjoying the one with no doors and open rooms or one with the doors that open at the front and show the rooms? don't mind if it is aimed at older than 2, hoping it will be the girls' equivalent of a brio trainset which grew for years with us and is still used by our 8 year old boy.

thanks so much
hot choc

Tricky one as for older girls I would definitely say the ones that close at the front (that look more like "real dolls houses" in my opinion ), but they may not be sturdy enough for a 2 year old.

We had an open one (bought for DS2 who loved it briefly) and DD played with it when she was little. When we moved to Oz we left it behind as I wanted to buy her a "proper one" for Christmas (she was 5). She absolutely adores it and plays with it loads - she's nearly 7 now. You can add on furniture, a conservatory, garden playset etc. Recently though a friend came over with a 3 year old who managed to break the door within 5 minutes as apparantly she couldn't work out which way it opened so just thumped it instead. She's not a very careful child though!
