Has anyone got the Vtech V-SMART art studio thing?

We got the thing at the front, but it doesn't include the thing at the back of the picture...do we need this to use it, and if so, what is it called?

The screen thing with the pen came in a box from argos but it was clearance so I'm not sure what was supposed to come with it - box opened already etc.

the art studio is an add-on to the vtech vsmile console.

i think the latest version is a vsmile motion though but i don't know anything about it.

we found the art studio quite difficult to use and DS1 who is 5 finds it frustrating.

I have the v-smile art studio which is an add on to the v-smile console, my daughter got it when she was 4, she played with it on and off for a few months and has never asked since, however she was also given the digital arts and crafts studio which plugs into a pc or laptop and she loves it, she plays it for hours regularly, she is now 6, see it here
