Kidizoom or Instax camera

Looking to get a camera for DT each for Christmas and trying to decide between these 2.

Has anyone got experience of both?

I quite like the idea of the Instax - kids and grown ups don't want to faff around with uploading shots to the computer? DH says Kiddizoom looks much better.

Any ideas anyone? DT are 6. Thanks

We had a kidizoom and it wasn't used much, the picture quality was poor. Ours was a few years ago so they may well have improved.

I quite like the Instax cameras but decided against one because I know my kids will take snaps of random nonsense until they run out, then they'll sit in the toy box because the novelty has worn off! The film refills work out to not much less than £1 per shot so unless your child in sensible, it's an expensive way of taking photos.

I also have decided against the Instax for the same reasons as Lemons and my DD2 also 6 takes pictures on my iPhone so I feel the Kiddizoom would be too babyish. So I have ruled out a camera this year.

We got our daughter a normal tough camera for her 6th birthday. She is coping well with it. I looked at the two you suggested but (as lemons and coper say) I thought the Instax refills would be too dear (she definitely isn't selective with what she photographs!) and the kiddizoom gets bad reviews for quality.

Thanks really appreciate the comments. I think we'll go for a different main present now but no idea what!
