After a recent extension our garden is a bit sad and needs some TLC. It’s an akward shape without huge flat area. Granny and grandpa bought 4 year old a playhouse which he loves but what else would you recommend for that age for ‘best use?’ Options of climbing frame/swing/trampoline etc but we don’t have space for it all so want to make beatbox purchase we can. Ps baby on the way in November.

Trampoline, I would say. Mine have bounced on ours for about 4 years! The swing has had much less use. They do like the slide but the trampoline has had the most use.

A slide was our most popular garden toy for years. One about 4.5ft tall.

Our trampoline gets more use than any other garden toy. Don't buy a tiny one though 10ft is okay but 8 is too small imo. (Ours is 14ft, when we bought it we lived in a rental with a massive garden, the house we could afford to buy has a much smaller garden and I do look forward to the day when the trampoline goes and I have some space for flowers or vegetables.) You could always dig down for some of the legs as you say your garden isn't flat.

Trampoline for groups of DCs agree with going as big as you can.
We also made a living willow den and set it up with lots of bug habitats.
Now the weather’s warmer, my 5yr old DTs spend most of their time down there.
