(15 Posts)Hi, interested to know what names toddlers have for their toys for some inspiration. Or what you refer to their favourite comfort item as if they’re too young to name yet
Thanks xo
My neice had a comfort blanket which she called "Baa"
Latest one is a black rag doll called Hope from One Dear World. Backed their crowdfunding campaign a few months back and finally received the doll last week. Very soft and cuddly and little A. loves it!
DA had a Muslin square with him at all times for several years. Luckily I was able to have several and he wasn’t hooked on one in particular. This was great when one got lost!! Anyway to answer your question he called it his ‘buhbuh’. Not sure how to spell it so that’s phonetically what he said!
Dd has a rabbit comforter she calls "nuggles"
Raggie.
It’s a rag.
Dd1 - Bear (surprisingly, it was a bear )
Dd2 - Bapu (a giraffe)
Ds - Ads (an elephant)
Ds1:Greg the giraffe
Ds2: pedro the penguin
Beep.
She was formerly a Ewan the dream sheep but developed a fault and would only make a loud beep noise. DS became very attached to her and didn’t tolerate the new replacement Ewan so we stripped out the electronics and the name beep sheep stuck. He is 5 now and loves her.
Hop (jellycat bunny from babyhood until about 3)
Monsty (cheap stuffed monster toy she sobbed her little heart out asking a friend of mine for it at age 4. She’s nearly 6)
Not a toddler, but 11 year old dd has a monkey called mugglewump.
We had a slumber bear which comes with a scrap of material known as a silkie. We have gone through several silkies, thank goodness for being able to replace them i may have stockpiled when original silkie was misplaced for a few hours
Silkie is inexplicably male and DD is 9.5 and discovered "him" at the back of a drawer a few days ago and is back to sleeping with him again. The day she discovered there were actually two silkies was a bad day (insisted on having both of them at the same time).
DD is 19 months so she has not yet called it anything, but her favourite is a jellycat monkey, which we call ‘monkey’ so if I say pick up ‘monkey’ she does.
Or if a story we are reading has a bit about a monkey, she will look for or pick up her monkey.
So ‘monkey’ it is then then!
Original, I know.
Rocking horse called Princess from Pferdchenstall
My son has a jellycat giraffe called Jimmy although it was us that named him
