Which tablet to go for??

Hi,

We are thinking about buying a tablet for our son, but not sure which one to go for. I have an ipad which I use all the time and love, but we were thinking of something cheaper and slightly more 'robust'. I know there are LOADS on the market and wondered what people would recommend?

The key thing is it needs to be easy to use. I love the pad because of the app store and how easy things are to download etc. My experience of google play and androids is that this isn't the case with them - I suspect they may just take some getting used to.

At the moment we want it for mainly sensory things and stuff for him to watch and catch his attention. But it would be nice to have something that in the future if we are on a long journey we could pop it in the car with him..

What would you recommend?

Thanks.

To be honest I would just get an ipad mini and put a griffin survivor case on it.

My DD had a Hudl and still ended up on my ipad all the time just because of ease of use. Also the charger port broke twice. We ended up getting her the ipad eventually anyway and the Hudl sits around unused.

We have an iPad mini and a kindle fire HD for my oldest daughters. To be honest the fire seems to entertain them just as much as the iPad at a fraction of the price. iPads can be easily broken and cost a lot to repair. I'd get a cheaper model to start off and if your LO likes it and takes care of it then you could upgrade in the future? (I actually bought myself a fire as I liked the look of it and I absolutely love it) hope you get something xx
