Hmmm, we didn't get Granny Bonnet in our set. The set description sounds different, maybe we get different ones down here in Aus (I'm an ex-pat Brit)? THanks for the info though, I think you're right about the 'northern' thing -ties in with a Teletubbies ep called 'Grandad's Pigeons' that DD LOVES watching!
Here's the description of the village from Mothercare.
The HappyLand Ready to Play Village set is truly amazing value, as bought individually, the buildings would cost over £120. HappyLand is the perfect setting for inspiring early imaginative play in your child. This lovely HappyLand Ready to Play Village Set includes: two-storey cottage, two-storey bakery and tea-room, telephone booth, greengrocer market stall, three trays of fruit and vegetables, a car, two delivery vans, a cat, a dog, Mr and Mrs Barley, Poppy and Charlie Barley, Granny and Grandpa Bonnet, Mr Bun the Baker, Delia and Petula the Grocer. There are also fun sounds to enjoy.
Does anybody know who the man with the pigeon on his head is supposed to be from the ELC Happy Land Village? We thought a postman but then saw there was an actual postman. Is he the Village Idiot, Local Flasher? Anyone....?
