Wooden play kitchen

looking for a wooden play kitchen for 2 yr old DS. He's quite tall, and would like one that is big enough for 2 as have another on the way very shortly.

Does anyone have one they would recommend? Looking at Kidkraft retro and delux and the little tikes premium, but all have some negative reviews for flimsiness.

We have the little tykes premium one. It's lovely, looks great in my kitchen and keeps DD (2.5 now) very busy. However, she is never keen to share it with visiting children! It probably is big enough for two, but we haven't worked out how yet.

I was about to start a similar thread!

I love the look of the John Lewis red kitchen, but have also been looking at the Letterbox one as it seems to have the most extra stuff like the blackboard and clock. It's really difficult to decide just going by pictures online, though.

Does anyone have either of those? How does the Letterbox kitchen work in practice? Presumably there aren't doors that open on all four sides. Is it tall enough for a 3yo?

Off to Ikea tomorrow to check out that one, too.

I got my dc the kidkraft red retro kitchen for christmas, it was secondhand but in perfect condition and was only 50 quid. I can't say it's at all flimsy tbh. My ds is 3, my dd is 7 and they play with it every day, I was worried it would be a very large dust gatherer but that hasn't been the case at all. I would shop around though, I'm not sure I'd but one for the price I've seen them advertised at.

We have the ikea one and it is lovely :-) They also do very nice fabric food and very very nice metal mini saucepans. The saucepans are so nice I can't bear to give them to my 16 month olds as they'll bash them on the floor, so they have ASDA plastic pans until they're old enough to treasure look after the nice shiny metal ones

We've got the Ikea one too - I think i like it more than DD does though .

Silkenladder - check the measurements on the letterbox one. If it's the one they had when I looked about 18 months ago it was a bit small imo.

We have a red one that elc used to do which is almost identical to the kidkraft red retro one and it was a great buy. Big enough for two and lots of cupboard space to store pots, cups, food etc.

The IKEA one is lovely. I had plans to buy it for DD, until my Dad got her a horrendous Peppa Pig one which she probably loves far more than she ever would have the IKEA one

We have little tikes preimium. Its great 2.5 year
Likes it. I like how all the 'ingrediants' can be put in yhe cupboards at bedtime!

We got this one for DS at Christmas (he was 2 the week before).

It is really lovely and DS plays with a lot. It's very sturdy and the cupboards are a good size and the dials click very pleasingly!

We have had the Kidkraft red retro kitchen for 3 years now. Played with daily and DH who is an engineer reckons it is engineered better than a lot of flat pack furniture. Took him 3hrs to build

We have a John Crane one it's lovely. It was a birthday present for our daughters 2nd birthday. She'll be 4 this year and plays with it often.

We have the red John Lewis one. It is properly beautiful and DH thinks I'm joking when I say that I'm going to use it for kitchen storage when they outgrow it .

Sadly they seem to prefer playing with plastic things

We have the red JL one too! DS1 got it for Christmas coming up to two. He still loves it (4.3) and his younger brother is getting interested too. I'd say it's very robust and well-constructed (don't leave it until the night before to assemble, though...). The black surfaces do show up dust, though...

Another Ikea kitchen here! I remember researching kitchens intensely and I'm very pleased with it. My DC love it and play with it constantly. I would also recommend the Ikea pots and pans, cups and bowls and Melissa and Doug wooden cutting food, biscuit tray and cake. The wooden food is big hit with my DC and all their friends. They are played with much more than the plastic food.
