Hi I'm just wondering if anyone can recommend a good toy kitchen for my 2 ds's age 2 and 5.
I'm willing to spend up to about £100, I want something that's good quality, sturdy and isn't too girly.
Thanks.

have you tried GLTC or ELC websites? I've been looking out for kitchens too for dd's Christmas present and spotted several I like which aren't girly

We have this one. I managed to get it for about £115 in the end IIRC but you just have to wait for someone doing a deal. If you have a 20% ELC voucher, you could get it for £120, but by the looks of it the ELC one doesn't have a microwave or telephone which is a bit crap

this is nice - i'm very tempted for ds. elc also have a beauuuutiful red one for about £150 that i have drooled over several times. here. ds loves them. so cute.

obviously dh would prefer us to get a tool kit or garage.

Staines - see my link above, better than the ELC one IMO (and cheaper hmm)

The Ikea one is brilliant, going to get it for my DC too

We have this one - it has stood the test of time so far (3 years) very well, and is more compact than most of the other wooden ones. I suspect you can get it a bit cheaper if you hunt around.

You should check out play kitchens, they are having a great sale with additional coupon

I got this one last Christmas and it's been great. Played with every day by my two (aged 2 and 3) and still in excellent condition.

We have the red John Lewis one, it's beautiful and really sturdy, proper clicking knobs and everything. I love it more than the DCs I think!

If you're still looking OP, the elc on is on offer at £100 this week. Gutted that I bought it a month or so ago!

Thanks WWLD, I am still looking. Think I might go for that one.
Gutting for you though. I hate it when that happens.

I know - swings and roundabouts really, if I'd left it till later, it would probably have sold out! At least I didn't pay full price for it!

I SOOOOO regret not getting the IKEA one, but it wasn't in stock last year

PlumBumandBaublesMum Tue 30-Nov-10 13:24:14

We were there last week and there was one in every corner dd2 (4) loved it, it had light up rings and everything

Thanks WWLD, I got it and it's going to be fab, after the hubbie has spend 5 hours trying to put it together!! it could be a long Xmas eve (grin)
