Weightlifting in pregnancy

I’m currently TTC my first child. I’m 32 and have been weightlifting for about 5 years.

I want to continue training whilst pregnant, but I’m terrified of doing something wrong. I’ve googled but the advice is very conflicting and confusing.

What are the absolute don’ts of training in pregnancy? Are there particular exercises you should do more or less of during pregnancy?

Could you get a trainer? I did crossfit until i was 7 months pregnant. I did lighter weights and stopped doing cleans.

I know several people who have continued with crossfit until their due date so it is possible. Best to consult a trainer though so you can make sure you are doing everything safely

I trained throughout my pregnancy.... I did change my programme to accommodate my changing body and centre of gravity.... but no reason not to continue if you are having a trouble free pregnancy and already lifting.... it's not the time to take up a new sport etc but keep what you are doing and as it progresses you will need to lighten the weight a bit and usually once in the second trimester it's recommended that you don't do things lying on your back.... e.g. bench press...
