Is your son going through anything right now, like a relationship break up, house move? Does he have any children and are they male? Dreams like this have symbols in them rather than literal eg black eye could be some sort of trauma or it could just be as simple as him not noticing how lonely his girlfriend is ( ie not seeing what’s in front of him). Has he confided anything In you recently?

No relationship break up,he has 2 sons.
He's the one that looks after them while gf works.

She does 3 full days, and he says some days drag in.

To me it reads that you subconsciously think your son needs your help with something. He's lost and wants your help. Maybe the black/blank eyes means you can't 'read' him and don't know what he wants?

You are worried about him in some way. Plan a chat with him to see if everything is ok, and it may ease your mind.

Your experiencing heart palpitations and your rationalizing a scenario that would leave you panicked. The dream means nothing.

OP what's going on in you at the moment that might have links to feelings of being displaced and lost when you were a young teenager? Are there any unresolved griefs or feelings of incompleteness emotionally that might have their roots in social developmental difficulties back then? From the point of view of my training, the dream is about your inner self, and only about your son as a symbol of a part of yourself. For example, you're very conscious of being concerned about your son's safety and wellbeing, but how was your own safety, wellbeing or feeling of 'belonging' neglected when you were around thirteen - a time of adolescence, huge hormonal developments and social shifts that deeply affect our identities and how we feel about ourselves. You've raised your kids by now (perhaps) but the dream is telling you to look within for unresolved issues that need attention if you want to fulfill your future potential. You wake up feeling freaked out because deep down you know there's some lost part of yourself that 'needs a home'.

Just my take, hope it's somehow helpful.

Have you ever really explored all your feelings about that with some sort of therapist, OP? It's deep stuff and will have affected your psyche.

OP I'd suggest it's not really about finding him, even if that was still an option. Your dream is suggesting there are unresolved painful feelings in your unconscious that haven't been healed, and your 13 year old self still feels somehow confused and 'lost'. You could do some reading about the 'inner child', for example, to get an idea of how significant your dream is. I get a very strong sense that there's emotional pain around aspects of identity for you, and therapeutic work would look at that to help you liberate a vital part of yourself and your 'story'.

Sending hugs, as this is likely to be a difficult connection to buried feelings for you, bringing up confusion, defensiveness, hurt (all very understandable, if so). I'd even say if you weren't aware of being touchy around this subject, your dream is indicating that you have reason to be.
