Has anyone had a vivid bad dream before something bad happened?

I'm a great believer in there being something else out there and fate

I very rarely remember dreams but recently I found out I was pregnant and was very happy. Then one night when I was eight weeks pregnant I woke up in the early hours covered in sweat from a very vivid dream where I was being attacked by a huge vicious black dog. I was in a tent with my family and I could see the teeth coming under the canopy . It was trying to protect my dc and it was terrifying and felt so real.

The next day I started to miscarry...

So sorry to hear that 😩 but yes I have twice. Once I had a dream there was a big plane crash, the next day on the news was that German plane crash where the pilot hijacked the plane and crashed into mountains.

Last year I had a dream that my sil came to our house to tell us that her (and my husbands) gran had died. Their gran was perfectly healthy - three weeks later she died Sad

It's a very unsettling thing.

Hope you are okay

Not me but my late DM went through phases of vivid bad dreams which then happened in real life. They include: dreaming she opened the bedroom curtains to see undertakers carrying the body of the man who lived at the top of the cul-de-sac out. That morning she saw exactly that. Dreamed about a fire in Blackpool Tower. A few days after there was a fire in Blackpool Tower. Dreamed her uncle stormed into her family home, take off his jacket, hang it over the back of a kitchen chair and then landed a punch on her DFs jaw. The scenario then happened exactly as she saw it in the dream. I still don’t know what to make of it. I’m not religious, don’t believe in the paranormal but how to explain this phenomenon I have no idea.

Yup. Daydreams for me. I see things and then they happen. I tell close friends now. Then when it does I take great delight in telling them I told you so!
Am trying to improve my ability. I think there is so much we don’t understand. Truth really is stranger than fiction!

yes years ago I had quite a complicated dream about sliding on a flume in a water park and there being an ‘unprotected pregnancy’ sign, I went for my 12w scan and it wasn’t good news

I had a very vivid dream that someone crashed into my car and broke the lights. Told DP when I woke up. When we went down the the underground car park of the apartments we lived in a drunk had reversed into my car and was still asleep in his at the scene.

To answer your question-yes I’d course they have. They have also had horrible dreams when nothing bad happened, and lovely dreams before the worst day of their lives. It’s all complete coincidence.

Unless, I suppose it’s something bad you knew was going to happen, and your brain might be trying to process it in advance. But otherwise - coincidence.

Funnily enough only when i am pregnant

I had a terrible dream where id given birth to a premature baby girl who died. The dream shook me up that much i told my friends and family about it, a week later i found out i was pregnant with DS and he was born at 25 weeks and died. My friends and family remembered me telling them about the dream

My mums partner had been drink driving and ended up in a coma. He had 2 bleeds on the brain and doctors wernt sure of the outcome. Id said to my mum i know it sounds daft but i had a dream last night that he was playing in a garden with a little girl, i think he will wake up. About a week or so later i found out i was pregnant with DD

When i first moved to this area ( fled DV and didnt get to pick which area they placed me ) i had a sudden imagine in my head of being at home with a baby boy and my DD and DS being brought home, DD started school in september and i picked the one closest to the house.... its a red school uniform!

My dad dreams of plane crashes. He hasn't had one yet where there hasn't been a plane crash in the news the next day. It's seriously weird because the science that keeps planes going isn't subject to woo.

We've been burgled twice and both times, awareness that there was someone in the house entered my dreams. The police weren't so keen on hearing about that bit! Grin

I dreamt 9/11 and 7/7 before they happened. If anyone told me this I would be very sceptical as I don’t really believe in anything woo. The 9/11 one was the most vivid, in my dream my mum and I were on holiday in NY when the first building was hit, I’d never even heard of the twin towers. I was shaking my mum who was asleep and shouting at her that we had to go help people. I looked out of the door (we were staying in some sort of little ground floor shed almost at the bottom of a building) I looked up and in my dream it was a big American Juggernaut that was flying through the sky and hit the second building. I told my mum about it and when it happened watching it on TV was like watching my dream play out. My mum used to have psychic dreams too when I was little, she had a locked money box (my dad had the key) and when things happened she would get my dad to unlock it and ‘open envelope 6’ Lockerbie was the one I remember most.

I had a vivid dream of a missile crashing into a building . The next day we had a family gathering and without warning my brother came round to my house afterwards screaming and shouting at me. Haven't seen him since (it's been 3 years )

So sorry for your loss tinkerbellini.

I've had recurring dreams where I get a big head injury on the right side of my forehead and I fall over and am unable to move, like I'm locked in my body for a while. I then see my children around me and panic because I can't help them, but it's like I'm watching from outside my body.

The scenario changes, sometimes it's been a car accident, sometimes falling over onto my head, sometimes walking into something but I always get the same head injury in the same place. I'm starting to get nervous that it'll actually happen one day as it keeps recurring so often Blush
