A marriage or some form of recognised partnership in the not-too-distant past, which seemed like a good idea at the time. Possible pregnancy involved. But it seems there were some illusions about the partner because things haven't turned out well and someone feels trapped and depressed, afraid of moving out of an unsatisfactory situation and suffering as a result. It's as though you just can't win. If you have mental health concerns it's important that you address them now.

But curiously, it appears that there's a new (or renewed) relationship commitment on the horizon. Almost a rescue scenario. It might be that a new love plucks you from the impasse you're in, or else your current partner commits to someone else and in the process releases you from the current bind.

I'm sorry I can't be more specific about the outcome, but it's a reassuring one in the short term at least. All I would say is be wary of getting stuck in a cycle of breaking up/making up, if that's a thing with your relationship, because you'll keep returning to the futile stuckness and frustration and depression that you're feeling at the moment.

I've just done a very basic spread for you in the absence of more detail.

It shows someone in your past who you thought was at your side, who you gave a lot of time and attention to, perhaps showered with gifts, money, love and time but who ultimately was not as reliable as you had hoped, in fact, they proved to be quite fickle. I don't think they meant to hurt you, but they had a bit of a knight in shining armour complex and went chasing off after a new project/person without thinking that it would hurt you.
What has happened as a result is that you have become frozen in time, waiting for that person to send you a sign, or waiting for their return. You are stuck in suspended animation rather than getting on with your life. You're tired and overwhelmed and finding it hard to make the tough decisions you know you should right now. The card Justice came up here and that can sometimes mean that you are wishing for a retribution on someone, which is just a waste of mental effort. Take the time you need to heal yourself but try and let go of negative feelings towards that person. What's done is done, and all you can do is learn from it and move on.
Judgement came up as one of your final cards and this indicates a renewal, a rebirth and the sense of dancing to the tune of your own making. It will take a lot of work from you, as other cards show you just feel like giving up, but there is positivity here that points to a bright future if you keep slogging towards it.

Undercurrents I got from the mix of cards was divorce, unfortunately possibly physical violence or at least mental aggression, and a man in your future who is very self contained and possibly holds some power over you. This could be your father, your boss or a close friend but I would caution against letting them get too close. They want to help, but at a distance.

Ultimately Tarot cards are just a focus for pulling disparate thoughts together, I should confess I have no confidence in them having any supernatural ability, but as a meditative tool they can be very helpful.

Professionally you have got something that you wished for. The cards seem very linear - they don't often seem to write such a clear 'story'
It shows very clearly one of two things -that you have for example just got a promotion at work that you have worked for a long time towards and triumphed over someone in the process and you are quite rightly celebrating your achievement. The flip side of this that the cards also show is that you are crowing too much about your good fortune/achievement and that people are starting to find you insufferable. Sorry! the cards also suggest that you can turn this around by sharing -unclear what -knowledge? recognition of your peers?
The cards shows what could be a university background, and a possible sabbatical.

Ultimately I have no belief in Tarot itself as some kind of scrying tool. If I had a person in front of me I could probably cold read them very well, but as it stands, I make a 'story' out of the patterns that each card represents as I pull them out in my front room at home. That's all it is. Most of us who haven't lived on a desert island could relate to most of the main topics that the tarot covers. I am making absolutely no claim to be woo or have any psychic talents.
