So...
I've had this thing on the side of my neck for 1 month. Had nothing before and have never had anything before like this. I am early thirties.
No recent illnesses of me or anyone I come into contact with
No recent travel (unless you count up the 25th)
It is growing big time. If it gets caught it can bleed A LOT but seems to less in the last few days.

Any ideas?
I have a drs appointment booked but getting curious.

Thank you in advance.

P.S. it is quite big, you'd notice it and it casts a shadow Confused

It looks like a skin tag.

If its a tag then you can get it removed privately for £30

Are you in the early stages of growing a clone?

[Disclaimer: am not a scientist]

It looks very much like a skin tag that has been knocked or scratched. Get it checked by your GP or walk-in centre to be on the safe side, just in case it's become infected; it does look quite red and 'angry', iyswim...

@NationMcKinley definitely a clone. I hope in time it will detach itself from my body and make me lots of cake Grin

If it's a tag then I'm happy with that as it means it is nothing sinister.

A local clinic got rid of my sons brilliantly so would definitely go back there.

@LadyMonicaBaddingham it's very angry.... my partner says it stares at him Confused

Peter Griffin had one of those, it ended up being his unborn conjoined twin.

Thank you to everyone for your help.

Dr has referred me to the hospital as she concerned about the rate of growth. I’m sure it’ll be nothing but will get it checked out by the dermatologist.

Hey, how is it now? Hope you’re ok.

Hi @NextTrainGoesToBEROWRA

I've been told it is a Pyogenic granuloma (a bunch of blood vessels that have gone a bit crazy) which are 99.9% of the time non-cancerous which is amazing news. I'm off to hospital on Tuesday to have it chopped off as it has nearly doubled in size since then.

They will send off the lump for testing anyways but that is a routine thing.

Thank you for asking and I hope you have an awesome weekend Smile

Ooh interesting! I hope that the removal is straightforward, and that everything is normal. Great that they’re sorting it so quickly.

Aren’t our bodies just so weird?

Wishing you a great weekend too. It’s pissing down here!

I had the same thing removed several years ago but it grew back!

Update: all was removed ok, sent for testing and nothing sinister going on. Have a cool little scar on my neck now which I tell people is a shark bite and around Halloween I'll say it was a vampire. Smile
