Psychic got it weirdly correct

A few months ago I went to a psychic. I had only ever been to a psychic once before years ago and found it totally rubbish.

But decided to give it another go, just for fun, I had no real reason for going.

This time, the psychic was eerily accurate when describing my life, family, events etc. I could go on about things she said that were true about my life, or things she said would happen soon, that did in fact happen, but you get the jist.

The main thing that transpired from this meeting is as follows;

She said I would meet a man named "Joe". She described the work he did. She described the physical pain he had (leg pain that gives his grief from time to time). She described his hobbies and interests.

At the time I thought she might be talking about Joe that I currently worked with. The description vaguely fit the bill for him, so I just assumed it was him.

So now, considering I thought she was describing someone I already worked with, I just thought cool, that was interesting, not exactly sure why she thinks this person is important to me, and promptly forgot all about this part of the session.

Throughout the session, she asked me what a certain year meant to me and what a certain number meant to me. These both meant nothing to me, which I told her (with a simple shrug as to not give too much away Grin).

She then told me that "Margaret" was here with us and she was the one telling her this information. She asked me who Margaret was, and I told her I didn't know anyone by that name, dead or alive.

So that was that.

Fast forward a few weeks, and I started a new job. One day, I heard a mans voice, but couldn't see him. I don't know why, but I just instantly knew that I had to meet the owner of this voice! Grin i spent the rest of the day trying to track down the owner of this beautiful voice , without coming across as weird Grin

Later that day, a man approached me. It was him! (He later told me that he had heard my voice and just knew he wanted to come say hi to me).

We met. We talked. There was an instant connection. We started dating. This man goes by a nickname. So it was actually some time before I found out his real name. Eventually i found out his real name was "Joe". This did not ring a bell to me at all at the time.

Over the coming weeks, as we dated, I learned more and more about him. I found out about an old leg injury he had, his hobbies and interests. That his birthday was a certain number, in a certain year. Again, nothing rang any bells. I had completely forgotten about the psychic at this stage.

Nearly 6 months go by, we are still dating and very happy. I'm in my car one day and the people on the radio are discussing psychics etc... this is the moment it all comes flooding back to me! All of a sudden every single detail she gave about this man, from his very specific job, injury, Birthday, name, hobbies and interests comes rushing back! It all makes sense! It honestly took my breathe away! I couldn't believe it!

I get home and message my now partner. I started by asking him a "random" question - do you know anyone named "Margaret" who has passed away. He replies saying , his aunt, why?

So I tell him everything. He is freaked out as well.

This is it. This is my very "woo" story. I am still dating "Joe". I have not been back to a psychic yet, but I hope to go to one sometime soon. I still don't fully believe in psychic's, as I said, I only went for a bit of fun. And I definitely won't be making it a regular occurrence in the future.

I just cannot get over how bloody accurate her description of him was. And i cannot describe as to why I felt this sudden need to meet the owner of this voice in the first place! And him me!? We both heard each other before seeing each other, and could just tell from the sound of our voices that we should meet! And I'm very happy we did Smile

I never believed in psychics or fortune tellers until I went to the seaside with my late partner & he persuaded me to go & see the fortune teller for a laugh. She told me that I would be getting a new car very soon, it would be gold coloured, that I would be going in to hospital for an operation but I would be ok, that my partner had an addiction that if he wasnt careful would kill him, she could take away his pain for the moment but it wouldn't last forever & he needed to get help. I walked out laughing & thought it was a load of rubbish, the day after I got a letter to tell me that I was losing my disability car, my parents agreed to buy me a cheap banger to help me get around, they went to a dealer they knew & without telling me got me a gold ford. The next weekend I woke up in agony with a pain in my side, I ended up in hospital with a cyst on my ovary & had to have an operation. The fortune teller didn't know that my partner was an alcoholic, he had been warned just before we went to the seaside that he needed to reduce the amount he drank but at the time wasnt alcohol dependent, within a year he was a full blown alcoholic & within 5 years he had died due to his addiction. I have never laughed at anyone since who goes to see mediums, psychics or fortune tellers.

I’ve had 3 psychics tell me things that came true but every one of them got a number wrong, ie one said my then partner would go to prison for between 3 and 5 years and it was actually 6 months he got, one said I’d move into a new home in June 2018 and it was actually June 2019 and another said that I would meet a new man in 16 weeks and it was actually 16 months, so they were all correct in the actual important stuff, they just got the time, or the numerical, wrong.

I can’t believe people that don’t believe in psychics when all the testimonials from folk are here to see, my Stepdad always says that psychics ‘guess’ the predictions but that’s only true if they spouted rubbish such as ‘you will meet a tall, dark and handsome man’ or other generic stuff, telling someone specifics is far more than guessingHmm but then, imo men are the least likely to believe.

There is another thread similar to this one where some posters are just downright offensive to us believers, why they post on an ‘unexplained’ thread I’ll never know, it’s a bit like a thread about a TV personality and someone comes along and puts a useless comment up, such as ‘who cares about her/him, they’re nobodies’, so why take the time to post then in a thread about a particular person?Confused it baffles me.

No it was at Ingoldmells, I have seen the same woman 3 times & everything she has told me has always been spot on.

@Schwibble why do you ask that?
I had a reading nearly 20 years ago in Brighton but it was a man. Everything about it still blows my mind

@gorrisandhorace a relative had an extremely accurate reading some years ago from the lady on the pier there, think she might have been one of the Petulengro family.

@Nat6999 thank you.

I can’t believe people that don’t believe in psychics when all the testimonials from folk are here to see

In the nicest possible way, the 'testimonials' from people who've received 'psychic' readings they've thought were accurate are about as valid as those testimonials on old-fashioned ads:

'I used HairRegrow and from being a bald loser, now all the ladies love me!' -- Mr R Brown, Reading

'Your correspondence course has turned me into a best-selling writer!' -- Miss L Smith, London.

OP, in the nicest possible way, people tend to retrofit psychics' guesses to fit subsequent events, often in good faith and without consciously falsifying. The person you saw said some fairly generic things, and now you're all loved up with your new boyfriend, you like the frisson of thinking of it as being 'fated'.

And this is a classic example of not one but three psychics who in fact got nothing right in their guesses, but the person being 'read' is so determined to believe in the 'readings' she's decided that it's all basically correct with a few trifling inaccuracies in numbers:

I’ve had 3 psychics tell me things that came true but every one of them got a number wrong, ie one said my then partner would go to prison for between 3 and 5 years and it was actually 6 months he got, one said I’d move into a new home in June 2018 and it was actually June 2019 and another said that I would meet a new man in 16 weeks and it was actually 16 months, so they were all correct in the actual important stuff, they just got the time, or the numerical, wrong.

Presumably everything else in these three readings was even 'wronger', but the person who handed over the cash isn't having it.

I'm a semi professional magician slash mentalist, and I can say 100% all they're doing is cold reading. And decent mentalist can do the same, and you'd swear they're psychic too.

Being taken in by these shams isn't a sign of stupidity. It's simply the way us humans work.

There's a big difference between a psychic and a spiritualist medium.

A psychic 'reads' information from you energy, so what they get they get directly from you. Same with psychometry - reading the energy from an object. I do it, and am usually very accurate.

A medium gets messages from spirit and is a whole other ballgame. And yes, I am a medium Grin, and have had plenty of spirit activity in my life since I was about 6 years old (now late 40s).

@whatsforteatonightaye if you read about physics methods, they often use J or G (50 male names for top 100 start with G or J) names and Mary or Margaret for female names, mention problems with legs, dead relatives, etc.. things that apply to almost anybody. It's an art to be a good cold reader and we all need a little magic in our lives.

Once you find a good psychic keep going to them! Why mess around with others who may not be as good. Glad you got a keeper! Grin
