Oh I'm so sorry. It's heartbreaking and will take some getting used to, it will get better though. You're in shock at the moment, give yourself some time to process what's happened. Do you have to go to the yard tomorrow? I found it helpful to go the day after and sort everything out immediately, my friend was the opposite, and a few of us did her other horse for her for a few days. Whatever works for you right now.

I’m very sorry for your loss
It eases as time passes but it does take time ( took me a year before I stopping crying when I thought of her but we loved each other) I only had the one horse at that point and I haven’t really bothered riding since, so it’s probably good you’ve got others to keep you going.
Mine was at least 30 when she died and I’d had her 5 years and we had great time and those are the memories to remember them by

God, I’m so sorry to hear that, I feel for you. It took me years to be able to speak about mine in a sentence without crying. Gutted for you.

I went the back the next day and it was strange but oddly settling. It was like he was still there. I mucked out as usual and it gave me time to process the full horror of it all. Couldn’t go back the next day though, took me a while.

Sorry for your loss. I lost my first horse five years ago in a freak field accident and i still miss him. One minute they are there and the next they are gone. I shed a lot of tears in those first few months, it takes a long time to be able to move forward.

I'm so sorry. I lost my girl at the beginning of the month and I'm still struggling 10 days later. Its to be expected I think. I had my girl the same amount of time from the same age as your boy. I knew it was coming though, it wasn't an accident or a suprise. Still hurts like hell and I still cry and wonder why it had to be her, why she had to go. At the moment I'm of no use to you as I'm still in the thick of it but I do find sometimes I can remember the good times and look at the photos and hopefully those times will be more and the pain and tears will be less. I am just focusing on my old mare now. I have kept my stable and moved the old mare into it. I could cope with emptying her stable but not the one from the mare I lost. So sorry you are in this awful place too.

I lost one to atypical myopathy in 2014. It took ages before I could talk about him with out crying but it does die down. I still have the odd moment.
