Reasonable part loan cost?

Hi all

I'm about to part loan a pony for my daughter and I. Owner wants £25 p/w for 2 days. Yard has great facilities. Some yard duties also required. Does this sound reasonable?

Thanks in advance!

Depending where in the country that is it sounds reasonable.

Seems ok. I'd just clarify the days you want and what you are allowed to do on those days. For example, if she wants to be able to take the pony away from the yard for shows in the summer on her days I would get that agreed in advance.
Also if the amount of work has to be cut down - i.e. if she isn't allowed to ride because the pony is lame are you still expected to pay?

I part loaned mine out at £14.80 per day someone had him - the exact cost to keep him.

Yes sound about right. I would say £10 a day is the minimum I would charge.

I pay £25 to loan a horse per week, and she can go every day / all weekend if she likes. she works bloody hard in the yard though, with all the other horses too.

It depends where you are based, but here in Kent that would be really quite cheap. I loaned a little pony for my DD a few years ago and we paid £35 a week for 2 days, with full yard duties (turning out, bringing in, feeds, mucking out etc etc) If the pony is a good fit for your daughter then I would jump at this. I agree with previous posters too, make sure that you agree everything in advance so that both you and the owner know what to expect.

Depend where you are but sounds about right. I pay 20 for 1 day ( higher as I only do one day) thats on part livery and near London.
