Best Tack Shop In London?

Hello Horse-mad Mumsnetters

Where do you think the best tack shop in central London is? Where you would go, if money were no object. The sort of place where you can't afford to look in the window. I ask because I am writing a play where one of the characters is popping in on her way home. She owns stables and several horses (in Kent) and rather treats it like nipping into Tesco on her way home.

I know there are going to be places on the outskirts, but the action takes place in a restaurant in Kensington.

Thanks.

Agree with all the above. In addition I've bought my riding boots from Schnieder Boots, just off Bond Street, and get my riding hats from Lock & Co in St James's Street.

I do think Hermes probably fits your criteria the best though. You can actually afford to buy things in Harrods !

@Butkin1, which boots did you get from Schnieder? I’m trying to justify a pair of the brown jodhpur boots, with the trad strap and buckle - to my mind they look much nicer than elastic sides. I can make do with my Decathlon cheapies, but I’m really a half size and the whole size below rubs my heels and the whole size up was too loose is what I’m telling DP.

Thanks All,

In the end, I plumped for Lock's and Hermes..... the character going off shopping is taking one of the other characters with her, and Hermes is right up her street.
