My toddler wants to name his new mini Shetland mare 'Kevin' HELP

Collecting our new pony tomorrow. A tiny miniature coloured mare, who currently has no name. She is passported as 'Ponette deux' because she was the second pony to be passported that day, apparently they were all passported that way but with 'trois, quarter, cinq' etc...

So, I asked my dear son what he would like to call her.

Son's response: KEVIIIIN!

I did try to explain that, she was a girl, but I got a death stare in return, and I'm drawing a bit of a blank with names.

I was hoping I might get some ideas here that I can suggest to him. The little mare is the sassiest little thing I've ever met, so something different to match her larger than life attitude and that's fun and quirky enough too.

OR... do we just go ahead and name her Kevin?

I think Kevin is brilliant. Definitely go with Kevin.

helenfagain · 27/04/2017 19:47

I would just call her Kevin!

Justmadeperfectflapjacks · 27/04/2017 19:47

Kevina is an outstanding name for a horse. .
Is he going to ride her?
I am sure she will be outstanding in her field at whatever they achieve together. . .

YesItsMeIDontCare · 27/04/2017 19:47

I'm with your DS on this one to be honest.

Kevin is a brilliant name.

NanFlanders · 27/04/2017 19:47

Kevin! Deffo.

skyzumarubble · 27/04/2017 19:47

I met a tiny little pug called Steve the other day. Bloody brilliant name for a dog. Is there a feminine form of KEVIN, I reckon she could own it!

Failing that I actually really Deux as a name:)

Spudlet · 27/04/2017 19:48

Kevin the Shetland. I LOVE it.

Do it, do it, do it!

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 27/04/2017 19:49

Kevin is a perfect name for a Shetland pony. We need a picture now.

Disclaimer: what I know about horses cold fit on the back of a postage stamp.

Kevin is a great name. When I was a toddler, I was given a kitten and I called it by a girl's name. He was fine about it.

AuntieStella · 27/04/2017 19:50

Yes, I think you have to call her Kevin.

I met a canine one the other day (hairy, didn't notice sex)

Semaphorically · 27/04/2017 19:50

Yes yes call her Kevin! That's brilliant Grin

elQuintoConyo · 27/04/2017 19:51

AllTheWittyNamesAreGone · 27/04/2017 19:52

Grats on getting KevinStar

MrTumblesbitch · 27/04/2017 19:52

I love Kevin too! We used to have a springwr spaniel called Howard. Awesome dog!

BillywigSting · 27/04/2017 19:52

Kevin is a bloody brilliant name! (Even if she is a girl)

Efferlunt · 27/04/2017 19:53

Kevinetta?

Sittinginthesun · 27/04/2017 19:54

It's got to be Kevin! And, yes, we need a picture.

Floweringjasmine · 27/04/2017 19:54

Love a sassy Shetland!
We know a spaniel called Rodney which is brilliant amongst all the barneys, teddy and woody names. He is a boy though.

RapunzelsSplitEnds · 27/04/2017 19:55

I looked it up and Kevin is a Norse name! It has a name Day and everything.
Kevinsdottir is the female version in Icelandic.

DD has a female Kevin in her class - Spelt Kevine- would that do?

AmethystRaven · 27/04/2017 19:56

Your DS is fabulous. Kevin the female pony, love it! Does he like the minions or is it totally random?

She could be Kevvy for short. Sweet!

UndersecretaryofWhimsy · 27/04/2017 19:56

Just call her Kevin! It's an awesome name for a pony. Who cares if she's a mare.
