Hi all, hoping for some help, I need to get a horse vetted this week for a 2 stage vetting.

It can't be RVS as that's the sellers vet. I also can't be there as its a bit far & I'm 7 1/2 months pregnant!

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks! 😀

I use Wendover Vets - not sure they would go that far - but they may.

It took some finding - but the person I used to Vet a couple of horses (and they failed) is Peter Harding based in leighton Buzzard - I think he is fab and definitely covers your are as vetted a horse for me the harpenden side of st Albans. You may not be able to get him tomorrow though.......but I would wait for him - very honest and very real.

Peter Harding is lovely. He used to be my old vet when i was a teenager and had our pony in Sandridge (in between Harpenden and St Albans). He is also very good.

You might also look at Gethin at meadow brook equine. He is also good. We use him now as the majority of liveries do at our yard and it makes call outs etc easier (we're a little bit further out now, than when I was a teen).

Thinking a bit differently here ...
But the RVS will have a lot of vets, so you wouldn't have to have the horse's current vet?
Also, If you go with their vet I'm sure you can access all of the previous veterinary history of the horse. I believe the vet has to state whether any previous treatment would affect the risk of purchase
If the vet isn't keen to do the vetting, I'd be asking why - they may not want to fail him/her
In the same respect, if a seller Only wanted me to use a particular horse, I'd run a mile :)
Good luck
