Seriously bad forelock any ideas to sort it?

The owner of one of the horses I help look after decided to trim one of their forelocks as it was "getting in her eyes and annoying her" . And below is the result.
After last summer when she trimmed a tail way too short i thought i had got her to realise that manes and forelocks are best left alone or you pull them and don't take scissors to them.

All the others are laughing at her :-( can you get horsey hair extensions?

Owner of the yard where our ponies are liveried has done something very similar to ds1's pony. Only she has done his mane too! He looks like an insane monk!
She thinks he looks cute Hmm
He doesn't tolerate a pulling comb at all, and I understand it was getting in his eyes.......but I could have done a much better job with the kitchen scissors!
We are keeping our fingers crossed that it grows back fairly quickly Grin

Yeah i think she looks like a monk, poor girl :(.
Thing is it wasn't really in her eyes , the owner just fancied doing it, using the scissors in my tack box . She talked a while back about hogging so i just cross my fingers she doesn't !!
When i text her last night she said, oh well ive also done her tail as i wanted a keepsake ,"ive cut a bit for you too"- seriously !? She hasn't done the same for her other horse i help with so why assault this one with the scissors and not the other one?!
Im guessing she had just read a book/article about trimming and thought "lets have a go!". A bit like last summer when she decided both horses were going metal free and she proceeded to ride them both in headcollars immediately and ended up getting bolted off with. - She dropped that idea quite quickly :)

That is truly awful!

Yes you can get tail and mane extensions. A lot of people who are into showing use them.

Oh poor, poor horse! Is this the same girl who kept buying completely unsuitable horses and was considering buying a dog to take out riding with her?

Ahd she now has dogs she has "rescued" a pug and a chihuahua . I say "rescued" as she bought them off preloved but she is adament she rescued them from legitimate charities. We went on a hack last week and they stayed at
home as unsuprisingly neither are able to walk that far let alone keep up with us.

that photo did make me laugh Grin There is a yard not to far from me where there is someone who does the same to all their horses too.
Hopefully it will grow soon... the Monk look isn't doing her any favours!
