Also, I didn't think the BBC went far enough...why didn't they try & contact them & say the horses weren't as described & see what response they got back?

That gave them the get out clause (which they took!) that it was up to the customer to have a vetting done & Kelly's Cobs wasn't given chance to rectify them being mis-sold, as they weren't aware!!

Well the girls I know tried to return their horse within the 14 days - would have lost not only deposit but transportation costs plus 15% admin fee.

Then kellys cobs didn't turn up to pick it up on the arranged date.

To be completely fair here to "TCC formally known as SC". She did sell a pregnant mare, and offered to take it straight back as soon as she found out. The new owner apparently wanted to keep her. Slightly different to Kelly's Cobs I think.

Finally got to watch it. Yes I was concerned that they hadn't gone through the same procedures any other unhappy purchaser would have done, thus making David Thomas seem almost reasonable and themselves a little silly. I was also a bit at them using Redwings like that when they could have had any vet, and then more or less dumping the horses on them. I was thinking 'I hope you've bunged them a big donation BBC'.
I must say the 25 yo horse looked pretty lively in the paddock! Funny how they chose her to go in the studio rather than the evil bucking bronco .

See, I want to be sympathetic, but at the same time going through my mind is "a fool and his money ..." I've read sob stories about this dealer and each and every time I can't help but think they'd have bought Pegasus if the guy had thought to stick a sink-plunger to its head!

I feel for the horses dolmite... not the idiots that buy them.

I doubt one of their horses would pass a vetting. You wouldn't catch me paying that kind of money without a full vetting &checking the horses background out properly.

That said I bought both my girls from dealers. And my previous 2 before them.

None of them were what they were sold as, however I'm happy with what I got & paid next to nothing for them. Even though I've had a few soundness problems with the big one, its nothing to write home about & only bought her as a happy hacker.

To be fair to the 'idiots' , these horses are aimed at mother/daughter shares, novices, super safe hacking horses AND with a 2 week trial, where a vetting is advised.

I would have thought someone buying their first horse would feel really reassured & that they would have a great deal of come back.

Yes, but if you had said horse vetted... most of the issues posed would show up...

Anyone could see the horses shown werenot sound... surely when you buy a horse you check it out for injurues first.

Maybe people let down their guard & leave common sense behind because of those reassurances.

This is exactly it chocolate - the one that was 25 instead of 16, the vet would've taken one look inside its mouth and shaken his head and told the punter to move on!

Caveat emptor et al - that's like dorothy perkins selling the Kardashian's line and using the strapline "for the more discerning dresser". Open your bloody eyes and engage your brain - you can't be carried through life.

Yes, it's incredibly sad for the horses - it's pretty much shit being an animal isn't it? :(

I made an innocent comment on one of my Facebook 'like' pages about Kelly's cobs. (All I wrote was: "I've been looking at their web site lately"..)
They have reported the comment as abusive and now my fb is blocked. I can't comment, add photos, 'like' or update status...
