I decided to bite the bullet and go trailer buying this morning.I went to Melton Horse sales and bought a lovely Ifor Williams 505 in auction.I'm really pleased with it,it has a new floor, good tyres, all electrics working, partition ect,and it was under my budget.I paid £820 for it and looking on ebay, they go for a hell of a lot more, anything up to £3000.My dad has fetched it with the landrover and we'll use it for PonyClub tomorrow.

I had a couple of people ask if it was for sale as we were hitching it up and one old boy wanted to buy my dad's old k reg defender.Grin

We love our Ifor and think you've got a bargain there. Ours is 15 years old and - serviced every 2 years - it is good as new. On our last service they did put in new electrics though as the urine does eventually rot the cabling apparently.

Thankyou all.Butkin, thanks for letting me know about the urine.Bizarrely though, dpony very rarely wees or poos anywhere apart from her field. She is ridden in the menage or out on hacks nearly every day and has never weed or pooed in the menage and only ever weed once out on a hack. She is the only 'housetrained' pony I've ever come across.Grin

I don't want to spoil your pleasure... Did you chek the paperwork??

Ifor's are big theft targets make sure it's a genuine sale with paperwork & receipts.

.....and get a good wheel clamp, at least 2 or more. My friend had her new Ifor stolen a few weeks ago, it had wheel clamp & Hitchcock on, think it was lifted onto a low trailer.

Yes,I've got all the paperwork and a receipt.A few dodgy looking folk were watching us hitch it up and asking where we lived-I lied! It is currently blocked in by a tractor with guard dog running free and I plan to buy a lock asap.My friend in the next village had her trailor stolen last week and the had to pass the house with it to get away - they think a low loader was used for that too.Sad
