M6 take home pay

Would anyone on M6 mind telling me their monthly pay? I’ve started at a new school, can’t access my payslip and the amount doesn’t look right to me. Thanks.

It depends where in the country you are. Also bear in mind that the new pay scales have probably not been implemented yet - they usually need to be rubber stamped by the Governing Body but will be back dated.

Thanks- I’m in the north. Yeah I know we might still be on the old pay scales- I’m talking £400 out so I don’t think it’s that. I expected £2200 ish, does that sound about right?

Not sure it's any help but on a 0.7 M6 contract last year mine was £1600. There has been a pay rise since then mind.

To add, I'm not sure it'd be as much as £2200. I'm now 0.8 UPS1 and get £1750 which I think would be just under £2200 if full time. My student loan is probably slightly different to most though.

It's not £2200 unless you don't have student loan repayments. I'm on less than that on ups1

Best thing is to use an income tax calculator on Martin Lewis website. Pension is approx 9.6% at m6. Then you can answer re student loans and double check.

If it's a new job you might be paying emergency tax if you didn't have a P45 or fill in an HMRC starter checklist.

If so, you'll get the extra tax paid back when your tax code is sorted.

£2200 is slightly more than I take home on full time UPS2.

I'm full time in the north on UPS1 (until next month) with a TLR2 and SEN allowance and I take home about 2220. Pay a significant amount of student loan still.
