(9 Posts)Ours is exactly the same - more than 100 staff in one large room, then splitting into groups in smaller rooms. Sounds like the perfect way to kick-start a Covid outbreak. So ultimately every staff member and pupil will be exposed to people who were at the first big meeting, no matter what bubble they are in.
I started a similar thread last week. We're expected to meet as a whole teaching staff of around 70 odd teachers in the hall. I'm currently in discussion with my line manager about it as I don't feel comfortable at all. It just seems like a ridiculous risk to take when we've got resources like Teams and Zoom. I haven't seen my family in months due to restrictions but I can sit in a hall with many other people who might have been going out all over the place all summer. I think I'm more anxious about the training days than I am about actually going into classrooms.
Has anyone flagged up their concerns with school? If so, what response did you get?
Ours is by zoom from home. Only those who have internet/laptop access issues are allowed into school but they are to keep apart.
It’s bonkers. I’ve just been into my local village high street-every shop had compulsory hand sanitizer at the door, strict limits on numbers, no trying on, please don’ t touch signs, plastic screens that the shop keeper stays behind, giving your name and number if you eat anywhere etc
Yet in two weeks-it’ll be fine to put hundreds, if not thousands of children and staff back in schools-all together!?
Ours same as yours. Seems madness after queuing in the rain to get into Aldi this morning.
Ours is in school but a mixture of via teams and face to face for smaller groups.
We're doing it in school but via Teams. It's so departments can be together. Lucky us.
Yes were having our usual INSET day full staff, so around 120+ (if its MAT staff too)
We havent been given any guidance for it yet other than see you at 8.30am for the usual MAT breakfast..
Anyone have their training day plans yet? Our secondary school around 120 staff are gathering in the school hall for a morning of training. We will then go to faculty offices and work on our development plans and review last year.
I’m just incredulous; I wear a mask to walk into shops where they allow about 8 customers in the same size as our school hall. Yet we are gathering 120 staff no masks in the magic walled school a few days before students arrive. Oh and to make it even better myself and a lot of staff live in/near the town at the top of Covid incidents this week. God help us all.
