Anxious about teaching a 'blended learning' timetable

I teach a voc subject and we are doing blended learning, having been 100% online during lockdown with a full timetable. Our lessons are 1.5- 2 hrs and some people were trying to do full lessons worth of delivery, which was far too much, I did some learner voice stuff and found they preferred an hour ish of delivery, just under an hour of independent tasks and then a few mins at the end to regroup and review. Teams call open throughout so they can drop on and off if they need help, or can message and ask for a 1:1 call if they’d prefer.

I’ve decided to use one note class notebook to compliment my online teaching so I can see what students are doing in real time. Also using it to mark assignments.

I did blended learning for A Level Literature in lockdown. Teams was actually very good for that, and I'm happy to share the guide I wrote for the staff handbook if you'd find that helpful

We were allowed to choose which lessons were live and which asynchronous during lockdown and it wasn't really a problem once you'd got used to a new way of working. You do need to be very organised and work out ways to streamline marking and feedback. Ideally the school needs to chase up non-attendance rigorously, as it is a lot more slippery when there are different ways to attend.

Did a full online timetable during lockdown using Teams. Slow to start with but the students soon adapted to it. It took a while to get discussions going but once we were in the swing of things it was fine. They all had textbooks at home. I uploaded powerpoints, YouTube links etc. We finished the unit delivery

Hi, I'm not doing blended in September but did do some online A-level lessons during lockdown. What subject do you teach? I teach Physics.

I used Microsoft teams which worked quite well. You can show a PowerPoint so that the students can see it, however, you can stop students looking ahead in the PowerPoint so only you can move the slides on. There is also the option to bring up a virtual whiteboard which you and the students can write on and everyone can see - I found this quite good for modelling answers. I used to upload my PowerPoint to teams after the lesson.

It's not perfect and at times,I felt like I was lecturing but it was ok.
