What are you up to this holiday?

All of my usual interests are on hold right now - travel, theatre, cinema - and dh is currently not working so spending money on the house/garden is not on the cards. I've read loads of books, worked voluntarily in school for a week, done a gazillion OU courses, made lots of masks for the whole family and my friends...

I'm bored and feeling very sorry (rather pathetically) for myself. Only 1 child still at home (GCSE results day next week - really looking forward to that one!!) and due to asthma and my age am avoiding crowded places. Am about to do some planning... in August... on a Saturday! This holiday is wasted on me.

Is it just me? Please inspire me with how you're filling your days before I give up and clean the bathroom!

I have been reading lots of books, running, clearing out the house. Currently, me, DH and DS are on holiday in the Lake District- very remote cottage and mainly relaxing due to trying to avoid the crowds.

Did a bit of planning for school.

That's about it really.

Lockdown has meant I've done all my hobbies to death! I've been reading a LOT of books and been to the cinema 3 times.

I’m away on holiday in Dorset. Walking, reading, eating, drinking, chilling. I’ve also spent a lot of the holiday catching up with friends who I hadn’t seen for months (other than on video calls). Been out for a few meals too which has been nice. At least if you’re doing your planning now, there’ll be no last minute rush and you’ll know you’re ready for the off when term starts.

Really miserable here. I had to have my much loved horse put down at the start of the holidays, normally I would spend several hours each day Playing horse and riding. One of my adult dc jumped into a wild plunge pool and has totally knackered their foot ( boot and crutches) so has come home and is as miserable as fuck, another dc had internship cancelled so is doing manual labour and i have to pick them up at 10 pm 6/7 nights.

Sorry about your horse, Rosieposy Sad

I've no business being on this thread as am not on holiday, instead in my 17th week of remote teaching.

Melbourne's lockdown means I can't go more than 5K away from my house and only one hour's exercise a day. On the other hand I'm due for a blood test today and can turn it into a legitimate walk through heathland to get to the clinic. Because it's going to a medical, it doesn't count as exercise. Ha! When not teaching I've got veggie beds to tend. I tried making mask yesterday, according the DoH specs. It was huge. Could have been a hat.

Am gagging for the next holiday - last two weeks of September, though I'm pretty sure cinemas and restaurants will still be out of bounds. I'd be grateful just to see my DD.

If I was bonking someone, they could visit me. Family, no.

Mindfulness colouring.
Tackling one room at a time to declutter (read: 'sorting through nostalgic sh*t and moving it from one safe place to another that I'll probably forget in a week').
Weeding the garden. Weeding the pavement. Weeding the fake grass.
Interuppting DH who is WFH with 'I'm boooooored'
