My DC and I had our last "official" day of home-schooling today, and I want to say a thank you to all the teachers who've done their best to keep our children educated during this crises. I know it can't have been easy, and I hope you all get the relaxing, restorative summer break you need and deserve.

I've passed my thanks along to the staff at my kids school already, but I'm filled with gratitude for all our educators and support staff. Now more than ever I'm aware of what a tough job it can be - and I've had an easier ride than most! Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to being able to hand back to the professionals in September!

Take care of yourselves and enjoy you summer. ThanksWineCakeStar

Thank you, @GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal! You have no idea how much your kind words mean to teachers right now.

I for one am so far beyond tired that I will probably go to bed in a minute. This has been the longest and toughest term of my teaching life.

I bet it is has.

I admit I panicked at first, and expected more from the school than was reasonable, bearing in mind they had to find their feet and work out a whole new way of teaching. It was born out of the confidence that they were really good this, and I absolutely would not be, so they had to help me, please!! And once they got to grips with it, they've been brilliant. But god knows, it must have been tough getting there.

I think you've all done amazing work. I hope my DC won't be too far behind when they go back - I've done my best, but I can't replace you lot. Very grateful not to have to, hopefully, come September.

I second GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal OP.
DD is in Year 6 so has been back 2 days a week for the last weeks.
I'm just writing thank you notes - is there anything I can include in these that would also be useful for you to have? (eg I have to keep a record of customer comments etc for career development - do teachers have something similar?)

@sorryiasked Please email the head with specific praise. Staff don't tend to take cards and show them to the HT so a specific compliment to the head is more helpful.
