Many thanks

voice union is meant to be good if you don't want to strike (they don't support strikes or industrial action)

I'm in the NEU (couldn't join NASUWT as that's for teachers only).

I'm in the nasuwt because that's who the majority of staff were with in my old school. To be honest, they were pretty toothless when it came to helping us with forced academisation. I'm considering swapping to NEU as they seem more proactive.

Unison?

I'm school admin staff and I joined Unison last week. Our Head advised all the LSA's and Admin to join a union. Unison was just the first one I looked at but would have been them or NEU.

Why bother ? The Unions only exist for themselves.
It seems like a waste of money to me.

Unions have twice given me brilliant support in difficult situations, they have all kinds of benefits and without them workers would not have any rights in this country.

Likefootball very intelligent post actually - unions are their members and so yes, they exist for the support of themselves.

I'm in Unison and have found them useful in the past. I wouldn't be without a union right now.
