Come and join us in the Teachers' Republic thread? We have coffee and distracting chat. Some others there were affected by that thread too.

yes do join us - we are trying to protect the republic thread and the cakes in the staffroom one

It can be so horrid on the other threads with some horrible baiters and haters.

And do read the Praise thread as that is good for the soul

At the risk of making a sweeping generalisation, I can guarantee that there are far more parents like me; who appreciate you, and are so grateful for your dedication to our children, than like those on that awful thread. We just aren't as vocal. Perhaps we should be more vocal more often Flowers

You're totally right.
Just like the majority of students are well behaved and a delight, most parents are very supportive and totally reasonable if they have questions or concerns.

As is the way in life, it's the loud, rude, confrontational and obnoxious ones who stand out most.

Don't take AIBU to heart, OP. It's basically Mumsnet's mosh pit. Or fight club. Steer clear if you're feeling at all fragile. Which thread were you on?

Aibu is brutal and if your a teacher it's worse!
Which thread was it? Try to ignore. Keyboard warriors are not worth it

Don’t be upset OP, I used to be horrified by the bile spewing from a lot of people commenting on those threads. Now I wonder what on Earth has happened to make them think that attacking like that is the best way to help their kids. Most people get on really well with their kids teachers, enjoy engaging in their child’s education and welfare and their kids are lovely well behaved nice kind kids.
