On rota in secondary - how are you staying safe

What are your schools doing to keep staff and students safe?
I'm back in on rota soon and am a bit worried as it wasn't really organised last time..

Mostly staying away from each other!

We only had three kids in so they just got on with the electronic work all spread out in an ICT room and we reminded them to wash their hands a lot, and did the same ourselves.

We took a couple of lessons each and spent lessons we weren't covering working elsewhere (I our rooms if they were in the bit of the building that is beating heated).

We have gloves available but I don't think anyone used them, we wiped down surfaces before and after use.

Did you keep windows open for fresh air? What about going through corridors etc?

The corridors we're using are pretty wide, didn't have to pass anyone anyway (only about five staff in). Moving kids to the yard just got them to walk in file spaced out, washed hands before and after. We can get them to the toilet to wash their hands without opening any doors by the handles. Wash hands before and after break and lunch, and regularly throughout the day.

I didn't open the windows, but the door was open and the ICT room we were in is large with a high ceiling. I probably would have in a smaller classroom.

Did you allow them to visit the loo freely? And what about in the afternoon - apparently ours will be doing some exercise and craft in the hall... There's been about 20- 30 students most days split into 2 classes...

They didn't ask, definitely trickier with 20-30 than 3!

In the afternoon they just watched a video of their choice.
