If there are any on here!

I'm SI at the moment and not really hearing much from work as they're undoubtedly run ragged. I gather we'll be on a rota and through the holidays. Just wondered what any other schools were doing as all info I've seen is (understandably) about teaching staff.

We have all (including the associate staff, which I am one of as a pastoral manager) been asked to advised a nominated member of SLT if we are happy to come in for probably one day a week to support from next Monday with children of key workers. This includes the 2 week Easter break. It has been made clear that there is no pressure and that no-one will be mandated to do it, unless there are no volunteers but I gather most of the staff body has volunteered (I have as have a number of my fellow associate staff colleagues) I don't know if you are primary or secondary, but I'm in a secondary and it's quite a hothouse of emotions at present! We are all a bit confused as to what Monday may bring and hoping we'll have a better idea of the shape of things to come by the end of next week...

Just received a general staff letter outlining the next few weeks and it seems that office staff are non essential (fair enough) and working from home. Not arguing with any of that, but interested to see what 'working from home' will look like...

What the hell, office staff non essential?! As a teacher that's ridiculous. Especially if it's a secondary school

Sorry meant to say, it's primary.

Secondary here. I know SLT have been planning all day. We had to fill in our availability and welfare needs last night. I think we'll be rota'd to help but nothing for definite yet.

All our staff have been split into three groups, and will be on a three week rota for the next six weeks.

1 week at school, 1 week working at home, 1 week holiday (this is because we can't now take the 2 week Easter break).

Just had my busiest day ever trying to help staff sort out how many children we'll have in and prepare packs to go home. Looks like it'll be 20% kids in so office staff expected in next week. As we are Primary, we are the staff with the First Aid skills, someone needs to answer the phone and supplies will need ordering depending on how long it goes on for.

Finance in Secondary here, been told to go in as usual, can WFH a bit, will find out more next week. Today was awful.

We're finding out (hopefully!) what plans are on Monday. I think we will join with another school in the MAT but very unclear so far on what support staff will have to do. I've been asked to make some pastoral calls, but only a few, so no real idea how I will fill my day either in school or if asked to work from home!

Business Manager here. What a hideous week that was. All staff at my school are in, Headteacher says it’s business as usual for now. We’re expecting 30 children in.

We’ll probably sort out some kind of rota once we get through the first few days and see what staff we actually need in at any one time.

Well done to all the admin, finance, pastoral and other support staff. At times like this, people think it’s only teachers that are working, and all other school staff don’t get a mention. Support staff underpin the teaching and learning, and we couldn’t run our schools effectively without you. I’ve ensured that my teams know how appreciated and integral they are to the efficient running of our school.

Keep going all, this will pass eventually.

Primary here. We drew up a rota to ensure that we each only need to work one or two days in the next couple of weeks. We started off quite 'business as usual', but SLT are really trying to ensure that the minimum number of people are in now - after all, that is the point of shutting the schools.
