Pay rise ?

Anyone getting the 2.75% pay rise "all teachers "!are getting ?Should it be in this months pay ? Not holding my breath here as it hasn't even been mentioned but we are an academy.

Ours will be in either Oct or Nov pay, backdated to September and will be in line with the 2.75% increase.

DS said they have been told they will receive the full 2.75% backdated to September and will be in either Oct or Nov pay. Academy largely working to Burgundy book t&cs.

No mention of it for us. I get the impression finances are tight; 5 support staff have left in the last year and not been replaced. All from essential roles.
Still, they did find the cash to install another layer of management...

The government proposal is 2.75% to the maxima and minima of each scale. The consultation ended on 16 Sep but there had been no official confirmation that it was agreed yet, so schools aren't in any position to pay it.

Assuming it is agreed, schools can choose his to apply it between the top and bottom of the scales. Some won't change anything, most will apply it to every point.

Academies can set their own pay.

In LA schools it will be backdated to 1 Sep, when it is finally agreed.

We haven't had the last one yet - you know, the one that was billed as 3%, but was actually 1%, but word in the staffroom is that our Head "forgot" to apply for it, so we've been timed out on it.

Rapids, that's ridiculous. It was a nationally agreed pay award and you have one of the strongest unions around. Why on earth would you let that go? It doesn't "time out" and if your school didnt apply it you are owed it backdated. When was your pay policy last updated? Check it. Schools have flexibility to define their own payscales but within nationally agreed maxima and minima.

Unless you're an academy of course, when they pay what they need to to recruit and retain the staff they need and are not tied to the national arrangements.

We are all getting it regardless of where on the pay scale .It will be backdated and probably December .

Not an academy, no. I believe some of my colleagues are on the case. For reasons I won't go into, I don't feel able to fight this one.

Didn't get the last one, won't get this one. Currently sharing one TA between three classes of 35 each. It's an academy trust.

The directors seem to be doing alright, mind you.

Independent school here. We get 2% cost of living plus a pay award for each year's service.
