We got ours yesterday. It could be worse but I could be happier too Confused

I'm staying in Y1 and I really wanted to go to Reception :(

Staying in year 2 and I'm delighted to be! Especially as my new TA is awesome!

I'm secondary but haven't got the full timetable yet - will probably be confirmed next week.

I know I have Y12 and 13 which I'm very happy about.

Probably Y11 too.

I hope I have a Y7 class.

As long as I have some things that I want I don't really mind too much about the rest.

Got it yesterday. Secondary, all the classes I expected (we agree we'll before timetabling begins) but non contact times not spread well. No tutor group though, which will be a nice break!

Ha ha, we still have 4 weeks to go. Bizarrely the new staff will get theirs a week on Friday when they come in for new staff induction day but ours will be not finalised until the middle of the last week and then only in an A3 sheet with the entire faculty on so about 6pt text.

Haha! In this school? No way.
We've only got Yr 13 on the timetable atm, and that's likely to change.
At my last school, by this point, everything would be on. I'm told that this school had a year not so long ago where everyone returned to changes on the first and second day.....

Some of my colleagues have worked in schools where the first week or so back in September everyone was on daily timetables, how thw fuck you plan in that case god knows.

I've worked in a few city- centre schools where we literally didn't know who would be back in September. I always quite enjoyed it, was younger then though!

Also worked for a psychopathic head who would deliberately make changes during the holidays.

Y1 in comparison seems so not bad!

I'm secondary and I'll be impressed if I get my timetable any time before the final week of term. Even then I wouldn't be surprised if there's some changes on day 1 in September.

You’ve got to be joking. At our place we’re lucky to get something in the last week of term; we also usually brace ourselves for any last minute changes in September.

Class lists usually don’t get published until the first week of September too. Secondary, by the way.

Yes. Would have loved to stay in a hear group for more than a year, but alas no. Back to year 1 but with a slight promotion so that's made it easier.

Yes. I've only just moved into y6 and am realistically here for years now as it's not a popular year group for many teachers.
I know which is my class for next year and am going on their residential trip with them for 3 days as part of transition.

Got mine and very happy. Year 12, keeping my year 10s into year 11 and picking up a couple more year 10s plus some new year 9s. Timetable is looking good, reasonably balanced weeks.

It’s normally in the last week here but, rather unusually, it has already been issued.

Mine is shit.

A little peeved. I am an upper KS2 girl at heart but been given yr 3

I’m the timetabler and issued timetables to staff three weeks ago. Only 2 comments, so I’m thinking that very few people have actually read them.

CraftyGin
My old school had a timetabler like you.
My current school, on the other hand, is still deciding who is in which classroom, who is in which year group etc. We'll probably get ours in the final week (so much for prepping before the break) and then will get class lists and SEND information in September (which annoys me as I like yo have done my reading up for relevant SEND strategies and child profiles before I start planning).

I have mine, and it looks pretty interesting. I will do sen one to one PE and arts with two y1 children, and English and Norwegian in y4.

I think I will need to pick your brains about PE....

We never get ours before the last week, if not the last day. And no class lists before September.

Parent here so slightly different, but we got a letter informing us of DD's new class and teacher about a fortnight ago. She's going into yr1 so I assumed this was standard practice!

We got ours last week and I am mostly very happy with it.

Y12/13 and Y7 (plus I am a Y7 tutor). Then 2 shared Y11 classes - both low sets but small so should be ok.

I only teach 18 lessons out of 25 as I am second in dept. I seem to have escaped Y9 again Grin

I got mine before May half-term. My HoD is awesome on this kind of thing. As soon as he knew staffing, and he'd got the whole school timetable, he got on and wrote the department timetable.

He's also very fair, so we all have an exact mix of bottom set/middle/top and every year group with Y12 and 13 as well, so I'm fairly happy,

The only bad thing is the school have reduced PPA to the absolute minimum of 2.5 hours per week (i.e 5 per fortnight), and then the 2 x PPA which we all get in our department are both on the same day, at the same time! Would prefer at least one more PPA, and for them to be spread through the week, but the school just has no money at all. PPA all on the same day is bad timetabling from the deputy who sorts out the whole school timetable.

I’m starting a new school and have got my part time days but have no idea who/what year groups I’ll be teaching. I don’t care though because I am escaping a hellhole so they could give me wall to wall year 9 and I would just be grateful!

I’m in Scotland do we broke up on Friday Grin
I’ve just moved from
Mainstream to SEN 6 weeks ago (yes through a term)! I will keep 3 and have a new 3 of my class of 6. I’ll have 3 ASNAs with me too, my children have severe and complex needs.

I’ve got Y12, Y13 (both split 50:50 with a colleague), two Y11 groups and a Y10.

It’s pretty much exactly what I was expecting. It’s my first year as an AHT next year so it’s going to be quite a full on year with that and all the exam classes. I can’t complain too much though because we’re a spilt-site school with the Key Stage 3 lessons taught a 10 minute drive away from KS4 and KS5. The number of “travels” is a big deal on our timetables and I haven’t got any. Some people might end up having to drive between sites at break or lunch several times a week and the real killer is the “double travel” where you go one way at break and then back the other way at lunch. The timetablers try and keep those to a minimum but there will always be an unlucky few who have to do it. I did it a couple of years ago on a Friday with a full timetable and it was horrible.

Astuz- 5 PPAs over a fortnight is pretty tough. Does that mean that 7 days out of 10 you teach every lesson with no frees? Ouch!
