PGCE 3-7 or 5-11?

I’m looking at PGCE options. I really enjoy my volunteering in a primary school but I prefer the infant school to the junior school. Does the 3-7 PGCE mean that it’s likely I’ll be restricted to that age group as a teacher?

I’m a little overwhelmed by all the options - university full time, SCITT, Schools Direct, salaried.

Is it best to get PGCE as well as QTS?

Thanks. smile

I have an undergraduate degree with QTS 3-7 and currently teach year 4. So don’t worry!

Not sure what you mean by PGCE and QTS, I assumed they came together?

Some of the programmes based in schools only seem to offer QTS and not the PGCE?

I think some routes ( schools direct?) give QTS but university based training gives a PGCE and usually QTS too ( if you pass the placements)
If you ever want to teach abroad, you need a PGCE in most countries
