Starting a new job in a new school tomorrow and wondering if anyone gets PPA still on weeks where there is a bank holiday?

You should, even if it's less time than usual as a shorter week.

At my current school you do. Luckily mine is on Thursday. The two people who have it on a Monday have just been told to suck it up.
There's one week at the end of term where we finish in a Tuesday so they get one paid back then.

I worked at a school once where the Head announced there'd be no PPA in the first and last week of term. Unions were called in, and she had to recant.

Our school still has PPA but it is reduced. Still had to hit the 10% of teaching time. So think the full time teachers end up with 2 hours instead of 2.5 hours this week and last.
I do ppa cover as part of my job and we have to reduce it and move it around in order to fit in everyone still getting some time.

Brilliant, Thankyou!

I've been on supply for a year and a half and finally starting my NQT year so things feel a bit foreign all over again in regards to planning etc.!

I'm so lucky at my school.

No question I won't get my ppa this week and I can go home for it.

Plus I only work 3 days a week and get a full afternoon.

Good schools and good heads do exist. Although I wonder how many there are. I've been doing supply for 5ish years. Been offered many jobs as I put on a lot of effort. This is the first I've said yes to.

Hopefully you have a similar type of school. Good luck!
