Do I tell friend that my school is a REALLY difficult place to work?

I'm a Cover Supervisor. The behaviour in the school that I'm in is hideous, genuinely awful and appears to be getting worse. SLT are appalling and seem completely unable or unwilling to deal with it in a serious way, staff are just constantly firefighting. The rest of the staff are lovely though which is what keeps me there.

My friend has applied for, and been interviewed for a job (cover too) at my school and has messaged me to say that she understands from the Head that there are few behaviour issues at the school - which she likes the sound of because she left her last post because of similar issues.

She is not working and needs a job. What the hell so I tell her? Do I tell her nothing or tell her that staff are completely unsupported and every day there's someone in tears in the staff room?

If you value her friendship, tell her.

Be honest and she can then decide if she still wants the money.

You can tell her your honest experience and offer her tips and guidance if she chooses to continue in taking the position

Thanks. I've told her. What the Head told her us unbelievable - sounds like a totally different school. Certainly not the one I work in!

You were kind telling her. She is now informed. I respect you for it xx
